Welcome to Dawah
Overview of Dawah & Outreach Department
Our work includes:
Daa’ai Training
Interactive Online Sessions: We regularly conduct online training sessions to equip individuals with effective Dawah skills. These sessions are often timed around major events like the Unity Iftar and Visit My Mosque, ensuring that participants are well-prepared to engage meaningfully.
Unity Iftar
Nationwide Unity: Our branches across the country frequently organise Unity Iftar events during Ramadan. These gatherings foster a strong sense of community spirit and inclusivity, bringing people together to share in the blessings of the holy month. We also distribute fruit baskets to non Muslim neighbours and colleagues with a small card which explains Ramadan and why Muslims fast.
Visit My Mosque
Welcoming and Outreach: Many of our branches participate in the Visit My Mosque initiative, welcoming visitors from all backgrounds. These events are great opportunities for outreach, where individuals may learn about Islam, and some even choose to embrace the faith. These efforts often receive positive media attention, highlighting the importance of interfaith dialogue.
Dawah Tours
Educational Engagement: We organise Dawah tours featuring Dr Sabeel Ahmed of ICNA, a prominent speaker from the USA. These tours are aimed at teaching about the principles of Dawah and how to spread awareness and understanding of Islam in various communities.
Seerah Campaigns
Honouring the Prophet’s Life: We host National Seerah Conferences and local Seerah programs, focusing on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him). These events are essential in educating both Muslims and non-Muslims about the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) example.
New Muslim Care
Caring for Reverts: Our efforts to support new Muslims include regular sessions, gatherings, and educational programs. These initiatives help reverts integrate into the community and deepen their understanding of Islamic teachings. We also organise retreats to provide a supportive environment for their spiritual growth.
Dawah Stalls
Community Outreach: We regularly set up Dawah stalls in public spaces such as high streets, outside mosques, and at various events. These stalls are crucial for engaging with the broader public and sharing the message of Islam in a welcoming and accessible manner. A significant recent achievement was our Dawah stalls during the 2002 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham. We trained over 350 individuals in Dawah and set up numerous stalls in Birmingham and London over a span of 12 days.
